The Scottish Highlanders had much to lose when siding with the Stuart monarchy and their fight to put King Charles to the throne of England. In fact, Many of them lost their homes in the highlanders. We have included a list of those prisoners taken at Preston in 1716 and shipped to South Carolina. Members, see this under "Settlers" in the Library. Among the names included are:
Clark, Cowson, .Croll, Cunningham, Dunlop, Dysart, Ferguson, Flint, Fraser, Guthrie, Henderson, Kennedy, Lynn, McBean, McCoy, McIntosh,, etc.
