Historic Hunting Island, South Carolina
The State Park on Hunting Island is chock full of great oaks and palm trees. The first light house was built in 1859 and was destroyed by gunpower during the War Between the States by the Confederate Army to cut off access by the North. It was not until well after the war until another light house was constructed, in 1875
